Before you use DashCam Travel

Use the app only when it is safe and lawful to do so.
Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected by these terms.

Definitions and acceptance

“App” means the DashCam Travel Android application. “Website” means dashcamtravel.com. “DashCam Travel” means the App and, where the context requires, the Website. “Operator” means Tomáš Válek. “You” means a person who accesses or uses the App or Website.

By installing or using the App, or by using the Website, you agree to the terms that apply to that service. If you do not agree, do not use the App or Website.

Android appThe following six sections apply to the Android app.

App licence

Subject to these terms and applicable store rules, the Operator grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the App on supported devices for personal or internal business use.

You may not sell, sublicense, redistribute, copy or modify the App; remove proprietary notices; bypass security or access restrictions; extract source code; or create derivative works, except where applicable law expressly permits an activity that these terms cannot restrict.

Safe and lawful use

You are responsible for installing, mounting and operating your device safely. Do not hold, configure or watch the device while driving when doing so would be unsafe or unlawful. Follow traffic rules, device-mounting rules and instructions from public authorities.

Recording laws differ by location. You are responsible for complying with privacy, surveillance, audio-recording, data-protection and road-use laws that apply to your recordings and use of location data.

Your recordings and uploads

You remain responsible for the recordings, audio, location information, titles, descriptions and other material you create, upload or share. Make sure you have the rights and permissions needed for that material and do not use DashCam Travel to infringe another person's rights or break the law.

The Operator does not claim ownership of recordings stored on your device or content you upload to a third-party service. The receiving service's terms govern content stored by that service.

Paid features and Google Play

Paid features are offered as one-time in-app purchases through Google Play. DashCam Travel does not offer subscriptions or recurring charges. Prices, payment processing and platform refund procedures are subject to the Google Play Terms of Service and the information shown at purchase. Mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.

Uninstalling the App does not request a refund. Purchases remain linked to the Google Account used for the transaction and may be restored where Google Play and the App support it. Manage purchases through Google Play or contact the Operator when the applicable process requires it.

YouTube Auto-Upload

If you enable YouTube Auto-Upload, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. You control which account is connected, which videos are uploaded and the visibility setting offered by the feature. You remain responsible for the uploaded content and for following YouTube's rules.

Third-party services

DashCam Travel relies on services supplied by Google, YouTube, Firebase, Meta, Mixpanel and Overpass. A third-party service may change, restrict or stop its service under its own terms. The Operator does not control those services, but this does not remove any responsibility that applicable law places on the Operator.

  • Google Terms of Service
  • Firebase Terms
  • Meta Terms of Service
  • Mixpanel Terms of Use
WebsiteThe following section applies to dashcamtravel.com.

Website use

The Website provides information about DashCam Travel, support material and links to external services. Do not interfere with the Website, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape it in a way that disrupts service, or use it to violate another person's rights.

App and websiteThe remaining sections apply to both services where relevant.

Intellectual property

The App, Website, DashCam Travel name, visual identity, software, text and original media are owned by the Operator or used under licence. These terms grant only the limited right to use the App and Website described above. They do not transfer ownership or other intellectual-property rights.

Updates, compatibility and termination

Android, device and third-party requirements change. The Operator may update the App, change features or stop supporting old Android versions. You may need to install updates to continue using the App safely and correctly.

You may stop using the App at any time. The Operator may suspend or end access when you materially breach these terms, when required by law, or when the App or a feature is discontinued. Purchase remedies and mandatory notice rights remain governed by applicable law and platform rules.

Warranty and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App and Website are provided “as available”. The Operator does not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with every device, continuous availability of a third-party service, or that a recording will be accepted as evidence for a particular purpose.

You are responsible for safe operation, sufficient device storage, battery power, camera position, permissions, connectivity and checking that a recording feature works as expected before relying on it.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer remedies and liability for intentional misconduct or other liability protected by law.

Governing law

Czech law governs these terms. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections available under the law of your country of residence. Mandatory jurisdiction and dispute-resolution rules remain unaffected.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change when the App, Website, providers or legal requirements change. The updated terms will be published on this page with a revised date. Where law requires additional notice or consent, the Operator will provide it.
